BIM is the choice for the future due to its innovative data sharing, communication and management process capabilities as well as its utilization in whole of the building lifecycle from the design phase to the construction, operation, maintenance, and demolition phases.
The employment of the 3D object-oriented parametric tools and models known as BIM (Building Information Modelling) has generated more benefits for the large enterprises in the AEC&O (Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Operation) industry. The SMEs adopting the system will gain the benefits in the AEC&O market.

Creating quality

The Oulu Building Supervision introduces a new, BIM-based pilot of building application permission in order to issue the modernized building permissions. The SMEs familiar with BIM can be a part of this change bringing up their knowledge and experience.

This project decreases clashes and mistakes in various phases, increases the quality of buildings, energy consumption and damage control as well as applies efficient operation and maintenance. In longer run, streamlining of building regulations and standards between countries will increase cross-border business.
